Technical Guide
Technical Guide
This guide details the technical standards for connecting to IAA's exchanges, including port connectivity, traffic rules, port and routing security, route server policy and BGP communities. These standards help ensure stable, efficient and secure interconnection for all peers, so please review them before configuring your IX port.
If you are instead looking for help using the portal itself, see Getting Started or head back to the documentation home.
Peering
Please review the following to configure your IX port appropriately for the exchange's Peering service; this information also applies to Extended Reach Peering. Peers must adhere to these rules, and by doing so, you'll help foster a healthy environment for all across the exchange!
- Connection Information - supported port speeds and optics.
- Traffic Rules - permitted and prohibited traffic on the peering VLAN.
- Port & Routing Security - MAC and rate limits, prefix lengths and routing hygiene.
- Route Servers - how the route servers operate and are configured.
- BGP Communities - controlling how your routes are advertised via the route servers.
- CDN Communities - controlling your visibility to the content caches on AS10084.
